AAdun is a savory snack of Yoruba origin; the snack is made from a combination of roasted corn flour, palm oil and spices. A variation of this snack contains fried red cowpeas. Aadun is sold primarily as a street snack and often it’s present at festive functions like naming ceremonies and traditional marriages
Ingredients:
1 cup roasted corn flour
¼ cup palm oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon chilli powder
Directions:
In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. Using your fingers, thoroughly combine and knead the mixture until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Let the mixture rest at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Mold into desired shape and serve.
Fun Fact: Aadun actually translates to “sweetness” but the snack is completely savory.

I love adun soooo much and can’t wait to gorge on it when I’m in Naija. Happy New Year, 9jaFoodie.

Where do you get the roasted corn flour? Can you make it at home or it is available at the african store?
Roasted corn flour is sold in African stores, but it is also very easy to make. Simply roast dried corn, mill and sieve.
